Horizzon distinguishes between the application language and the model language. The application language is the language of the Horizzon interface and is in English by default. Other languages available are Dutch, French, and German.
The model language is the language in which the content of a site or model package is presented in Horizzon. Which model languages are available, depends on the languages that have been included in the model package in Enterprise Studio. Different languages can be set for the model package content in Horizzon and for each site based on this package.
Whether you are setting the language for a site or model package content depends on the location in Horizzon where you set the preferred language.
Changing the application language
- In the Horizzon toolbar, click your profile icon
- Under Application language, select the language of your choice.
Changing the model language
The language of a model package in Enterprise Studio determines in which language it is presented in a site or model package in Horizzon.
If the model package in Enterprise Studio contains more than one language, its default language will be the initial language the site or package is presented in. You can change the language if you prefer to see them in another available language. Changing the model language of a site will affect the information shown in all views of that site. Changing the model language of a model package will affect the information shown on the model package's data policies and model Contribute pages.
When views in sites are shared internally or externally, the recipient of the shared view will see it in the default language. That may be a different language than you are seeing the view in when you shared it if you have changed its model language. When the view is shared within Horizzon, the recipient can change its model language if needed, but when the view is share externally (via embedding), the recipient cannot change the language.
Example of model language for model package content set to Dutch
When changing the model language of a site or model package in Horizzon, it is changed just for you. Other users who view the same site or model package will see it in its default language, unless they have changed the model language.
- Open the site or model package page for which you want to change the model language.
- In the Horizzon toolbar, click your profile icon .
- Under Model language, select the desired language. You can choose from the languages that are available in the model package. The content of the site or Contribute page in a model package now automatically switches language.
The selected language is automatically saved; the next time you open the site or model package in a new Horizzon session, its content is shown in the last used language.
