Below is an overview of the commands in the Enterprise Studio Online remote session toolbar. The session toolbar (or Amazon Appstream™ 2.0 toolbar) may look different than the example shown below. Availability of controls depends on various factors, for example, whether you are running Enterprise Studio Online in a Windows Client application or in a web browser.

Open the Activity Console window in your remote session.

Open a new instance of Enterprise Studio in your remote session without opening a model package, or to restart the application after closing it.

Open the File Explorer window, showing the Home and Temporary Files folders, the shared folder, and your personal storage. The File Explorer can be used for:

Switch between application windows. Useful when you are running multiple instances of Enterprise Studio in your remote session.

Settings


Display Resolution

Only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in a Windows Client application.

When working on dual monitors during streaming sessions, a certain maximum display resolution is supported per monitor when working in the web browser. When using a Windows Client application, it is possible to use more than two monitors and set a display resolution greater than the maximum supported when working in the web browser.

Enable microphone

Enable use of the microphone of your local device, if available. It enables you to use your local devices for video and audio conferencing within your streaming session.

Relative Mouse Position

Relative mouse mode can be enabled to improve mouse performance. The command is only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in a Windows Client application, but the relative mouse mode can also be enabled when running in the web browser.

Switch to native application mode

Only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in a Windows Client application. The AppStream 2.0 client provides two connection modes: Native application mode and Classic mode. The connection mode that you choose determines the options that are available to you during application streaming, and how your streaming applications function and display. 

When installing the Windows Client, you can set the preferred default modus. When using the Windows Client, you can switch modes via the remote session toolbar (via Settings). Switching is not always supported, because of monitor layout or resolution.

Enter/exit full-screen mode

Put the Enterprise Studio Online session window in full-screen mode, or exit the full-screen mode.

Across a single monitor

Only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in a Windows Client application. Put the Enterprise Studio Online session window in full-screen mode on the currently used monitor.

Across all monitors

Only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in a Windows Client application. Put the session window in full-screen mode across all available monitors.


Toggle multiple monitors

Only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in the web browser. Activate or deactivate working with Enterprise Studio Online on dual monitors. Command is only available in the toolbar if more than one monitor is detected.

Remote keyboard

Only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in a web browser. Available on touchscreen devices, but only usable on an iPad or Android tablet (not on laptops with touchscreen). Click to open the on-screen keyboard. When activated, the icon turns blue. The on-screen keyboard can be used to input text in the streaming application. Tap the keyboard icon again to hide the on-screen keyboard.

Notifications

Only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in a Windows Client application. Open the Notifications window for print jobs from your streaming session to your local computer.

Open Fn shortcuts

Only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in a web browser. Display a row of Windows-specific keys and keyboard shortcuts. If not all keys are displayed, scroll to the right or left on the shortcut toolbar to display more keys.

To use a key combination that includes the Windows Control key, choose the Ctrl key on the shortcut toolbar, and then type any key on the shortcut toolbar (or, if you are using a touch-enabled device, the on-screen keyboard). Choosing the Ctrl key changes the color to blue. Choose the Ctrl key again to release it. The same applies to combinations with the Alt or Shift key.

Profiles


Client Options

Only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in a Windows Client application. Open a window showing the Appstream Client ID and an option for Client logging. Both can be used for troubleshooting.

Send Diagnostic Logs

Only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in a Windows Client application. Send a diagnostics log to AWS in case of a client issue. The logs include detailed information about your device and connection to the AWS network.

Disconnect

Only available when running Enterprise Studio Online in a Windows Client application. Disconnect from the active streaming session. After disconnecting, the current streaming session remains active for an amount of time. If you reconnect to the streaming session after a disconnection or network interruption within this time interval, you are connected to your previous session. Otherwise, you are connected to a new session with a new streaming instance.



End Session

End your remote Enterprise Studio Online session.
