Problem
When opening a site in Horizzon or a shared view of a site, its model content is not shown in the language that you prefer to see it.
Solution
If your model package contains more than one language, the default language of this model package determines in which language it is initially presented in a Horizzon site. If your prefer to view the site in a different language, you can change the model language.
Please note that if the issue happens when viewing an externally shared view (so not in Horizzon), you cannot solve the issue. Only the user that shared the view or another user with permissions to edit the model package the view's site belongs to, can change the default language of the package.
The following options are available to change the language:
Change the model language for personal use
If you want to change the model language of a particular site just for yourself, change the model language in Horizzon. Make sure that the site is open in Horizzon.
- Open the site for which you want to change the language.
- In the Horizzon toolbar, click your user profile icon .
- Under Model language, select the desired language. You can choose from the languages that are available in the model package.
The content of the site automatically switches language. The selected language is saved; the next time you open this site in a new Horizzon session, its content is shown in this language. Other users who open the same site will see the content in its original language, unless they have changed the model language for themselves.
Change the language for all users
If you want the model package to be presented in another language for all users (including yourself) viewing any site based on that model package, change the default language of the model package. To be able to do this you need to be a Lead Designer.
- In Enterprise Studio, open the model package.
- In the Advanced ribbon tab, click Translation Table.
- In the Translation table, click Default language, and select the desired language. You can choose from the languages that are available in the model package.
- Close the Translation table and commit the changes.
When opening a site based on this model package in Horizzon, it is presented in the new default language, unless a user has already previously set the model language for this site in Horizzon. Also, newly created sites based on the model package will initially be shown in this language. If users prefer to view the site in a different language, they can always change the model language for this site in Horizzon.
