References to a different table (object references) in a ServiceNow mapping can also be mapped onto a relation, using a mapping relation. This mapping relation is drawn from the reference relation between the two ServiceNow tables in the mapping, and the metarelation object representing the relation. 

Mapped reference in a ServiceNow mapping

The "manager" column, which contains references to entries in the table of actors, can be mapped on an ArchiMate® assignment relation. The mapping relation is drawn from the reference relation between the "manager" column and the "BiZZ Actors" table to the "Assignment relation" metarelation, as illustrated in the figure below.
