The following properties can be set for profiles, attributes, and data types in any metamodel available in Enterprise Studio. Some of the data type properties may not be available in specific data types.

Profile properties

Property

Explanation

identifier

The identifier of this element in the metamodel. The identifier must be unique and may not contain spaces or special characters other than an underscore '_'.

translation

Translations define how the element will be labeled in end-user models. Spaces and special characters are allowed. Translations may be provided for the different system languages.

extends

The profile to which this element is an extension.

hidden

A hidden profile will not show up on the Profiles tab of the Properties pane.

deprecated

Only available if the profile has been made deprecated: . When the check mark is clicked, the property disappears from the profile's Properties pop-up window.

always assigned to

The concept(s) to which the profile should be assigned always. It can be any concept or viewpoint definition available in the active metamodel.

When always assigned, the profile will be standard available on the Properties tab of the element's Properties window.

assignable to

The concept(s) to which the profile may be assigned by users. It can be any concept or viewpoint definition available in the active metamodel.

When assignable to, the profile will be available on the Profile tab of the element's Properties window. When selected, its properties can be set on the Properties tab.

Attribute properties

Explanation

identifier

The identifier of this element in the metamodel. The identifier must be unique and may not contain spaces or special characters other than an underscore '_'.

translation

Translations define how the element will be labeled in end-user models. Spaces and special characters are allowed. Translations may be provided for the different system languages.

type

The type of this attribute determines the type of the attribute's value(s). The type can be a data type or a profile.

default value

Provide a default value for the attribute. This value must satisfy the type of the attribute.

hidden

A hidden attribute will not show up on the Properties tab of the Properties pane.

read-only

A read-only attribute will show in the property pane, but cannot be edited by users.

inherited

The attribute value will be inherited from a parent object if available.

monolingual

If an attribute is monolingual, users cannot provide translations for it. It will have the same value for all model languages. This property is only applicable to string typed attributes.

Data type properties

Available to all types.

The identifier of this element in the metamodel. The identifier must be unique and may not contain spaces or special characters other than an underscore '_'.

Translations define how the element will be labeled in end-user models. Spaces and special characters are allowed. Translations may be provided for the different system languages.

type

Available to the Member data type.

The type of this member determines the type of the member's value(s). The type can be a data type or a profile.

aliased type

Available to the Alias data type.

The data type or profile of which this data type is an alias.

element type

Available to the List and Set data types.

The type of elements that this collection may contain. The type can be a data type or a profile.
