Workflow requests can be made for diagrams, views, objects and relations in a model. Which workflow requests you can start depends on the role(s) you have.


Required roles

Consumer: Start requests based on the default workflow.

Contributor, Designer, or Lead Designer: Start requests based on the default workflow as well as a custom workflow.

Steps:

  1. For a diagram or view: Open the view or diagram for which you want to start a workflow request, click Workflow, and then click the request of your choice: Change request or a custom request, if available. Example:



    For an object or relation: Select the object or relation in the open view or diagram, click  in the Properties panel, and then click the request of your choice: Change request or a custom request, if available. Example:



  2. If you have started a default workflow request, add the details of your request in the Summary request field down the page (diagram or view) or in the properties panel (object or relation), and click Submit to send the request. If you have started a custom workflow request, enter the data as specified in the request.

     



The request that you have created, will be shown on the tasks and requests page of the selected workflow type, in the My requests section and in the Group tasks section. The request can be picked up by other users to work on.
