The Create pane contains the Graphic shapes group. It is a general group containing concepts and commands that are always available and do not depend on the opened diagram or view. The group contains commands for:
- adding shapes, text, background images, and hyperlinks
- positioning/grouping elements
- creating legends
Graphic shapes are not included in the model browser, they are only present on the diagrams and views.

Comment This shape can be used for adding comments to content in your diagrams and views. By adding a comment a text box is placed in which you can add text. Comments can be added to a diagram or view via the Create pane or the quick-create pop-up window. | |
Group By using a group you can create graphical groupings of objects by drawing a group around them. Groups behave like other compound objects: you can collapse and expand them to structure your view. Groups can be added to a diagram or view via the Create pane or the quick-create pop-up window. | |
| Rectangle, Rounded rectangle, Ellipse Use these shapes to visually organize elements in your diagram or view to indicate that they belong together. It is a graphical aid only, it does not have formal semantics. Rectangles, rounded rectangles and ellipses can be added to a diagram or view via the Create pane or the quick-create pop-up window. |
Edge Use this shape to draw unspecified connections between elements. Edges can be added to a diagram or view via the Create pane. They are drawn between two elements in the diagram or view. | |
Text With this shape, you can include texts in a diagram or view, for example, to explain something. Texts can be added to a diagram or view via the Create pane. | |
Hyperlink Use this shape to add hyperlinks in a diagram or view. You can create links to websites, external files, and other elements in the model package, but also links to send an e-mail message. Hyperlinks can be added to a diagram or view via the Create pane or quick-create pop-up window. | |
